Responsibilities

  • Responsible for test performance and reporting test results.
  • Responsible for following laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
  • Maintaining proficiency testing records, must have experience with either CAP, API, AAB, MLE or other CLIA approved proficiency testing.
  • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills on automated instruments.
  • Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and must be able to correct the problems in a timely manner.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
  • Reports accurate test results in a timely manner, within the laboratory’s expected turnaround time.
  • Be able to multitask and work efficiently
  • Work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to direct and supervise laboratory assistants

Required education

Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent

Required license:

CLS License

Minimal Qualification Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent
  • Must have a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist license with ASCP certification
  • Perfect written English
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with a laboratory information system
  • Experience as Generalist in Chemistry, Immunology and Hematology
  • Experience with Roche Cobas©  e411, Roche Cobas©  c311, HORIBA© Pentra 60 C+ big plus
